First major project of the weekend done. Replaced the rotors and pads in the rear of the car. One side was really bad; the rotor had only about half an inch of surface left that was any good and the pads were all chewed up. The other side wasn't as bad but still worth replacing.

I also lubed the parking brake on one side so that I can actually use it again. I haven't been able to use the it for a couple months without it sticking on. It should be fixed now until something else corrodes stuck.

Project #2. Oil change: complete.

Project #3. Replace bank 2 O2 sensor: Fail. Long story but I probably will cover it later. The basics are, however, that the rear O2 sensor is shoved under the drive axle preventing the installation of a new one. We are currently guessing that the header has bent pushing the front portion of the exhaust system toward the back of the car resulting in both broken O2 sensors. Don't really know what to do about it yet but I have till next July before the next inspection.

Bonus Project. Interior build 3.0: begun. Finely started on the new interior; namely, a new sub box that will fit "permanently" in the rear DS wheel well area. Pics may come tomorrow.

so you can't even get at the 2nd O2 sensor? that's too bad. is it just bothering you because the CEL is on i'm assuming? my buddy used a snap on wireless computer pad to clear mine

i'm excited to see what you do with the interior! i kinda want the svt sub box but it won't be enough bass for me. do you know what type of sub you'll be running in the new box?

Correct, the new sensor wont fit in. I've already clear the codes so the light is off but it comes back on within about a day. The computer is throwing three codes right now related to that sensor, and with my age of car, I'm only allowed two codes at inspection time. The Bank 1 sensor is working fine so I'm not to worried about this one as far as performance and emissions but I really don't want that light and codes on the car.

I'm trying to build it somewhat in the form of an Svt sub box but it will be about 1 sq-ft of space and house a 12" sub. I'm planning on using the Pioneer that I'm already running, it's a good performing sub for day to day use and relatively compact.

so you're running without a 2nd sensor? if so, i can imagine why it's throwing a code. do you have another one ready to install?

cool beans! i've seen a few custom boxes in the back of foci, but they do not look easy to build. best of luck with it! do you know the cubic ft of the factory sub box?

I have a new O2 sensor ready to go as soon as I figure out what to do.

I'm not sure what the volume of a factory box is. It can't be very large though considering how little space it takes up.

Pics of my new box uploading now.

After:

Wish the sub wasn't so high up but that was the only place I could get it to fit.
