It was a can that I had left over from my first black roof, and as you said, it wasn't as glossy as I wanted. That's one reason I went with the rustoleom up there.

I emptied the krylon can and still need to do another layer so I may be getting another brand for the final coat and than clear will follow.

i used that for my interior pieces. it works alright, but when it gets hot, tehe paint gets soft.

The final results of my day.





And all put together. I tried to get a picture of it reinstalled in the car but it was too dark. I'll get some more ASAP.



In the end, I bought Rustoleom Automotive High Gloss black and clear paint for the bezel with very good results. The HVAC surrounds and buttons are nightshade with clear coat. As you can guess, it's hard to see the labeling behind the nightshade now, but in reality, I already know what each button does and how to turn on my fans so it doesn't really bother me. Furthermore, light still shines through so I'm planning on maybe putting brighter lights behind them so they shine through during the day as well as at night.

BTW Those pictures don't do it justice. In my humble opinion, it looks amazing in person.

I like it - only if you can still see what the controls are, since you can, I can't wait to see it installed with some LED's to light it up!

Don't get your hopes up to fast; knowing me, it will probably be a few more months before I start any lighting project. lol

I'm also planning on getting some of those HVAC control knobs that you got albeit in black.

I think you'll be happy with them, I love them even though mine are silver on silver on silver lol. I hope to do a blue LED conversion soon.

Now that I think about it, you got the black on black on black look going, so those eBay knobs would look really good in black to match you theme. Now you need to niteshade that clock before you put it back in.
