Thanks

Should be getting the spring compressors today, and hopefully the Bilstein replacement struts will be on by tonight.

Bilsteins are in.

However, that was the easy part. After taking the DS wheel off, we discovered that the lower sway bar linkage elbow has popped out of its socket and the car had been running without a front sway bar for who knows how long (at most since I replaced the wheels because I would have noticed it then). The passenger side one was also really bad and almost ready to pop out so we ran to the local salvage yard, got a good used set for $10, greased them up good, and installed them. The hardest part of the whole operation was fighting with the rust on everything (you have to love NY salt in the winter). However, when it was all said and done, nothing was to bad and hopefully the car will drive much closer to new than its been in a while. Can't wait to try it out for a drive tomorrow.

Did you hear a rattling when you went over bumps? Good thing it's fixed now, why haven't you taken it out yet?

My car has clunked for almost as long as I've owned it, I just never knew what was making it (and hopefully this may fix it). It most have come unhooked within the past month or so but the elbows were very worn to start with (probably all the way back from when I bought the car) so the change wasn't all that dramatic. I am surprised it wasn't more noticeable when it fell off but the car still handled much better than any other car I've been driving lately (mainly a 90s full size chevy pickup pulling a large trailer so that doesn't really count. lol). We will see how much improvement there is tomorrow.

"Teaser" pic of what I'm working on right now: my second attempt at a black roof. It hasn't been sanded or clear coated yet so it's a bit rough but hopefully some more will get done on it this weekend. Plus, if the roof panel turns out good, the top of the hatch and spoiler will probably also get done. I also am planning on removing the stickers and pinstriping this weekend and need to sand and polish the headlights.
