Thanks. I will be doing a couple things tomorrow to help tie the white wheels into the rest of the car. I love winter because you can have a little fun and still not stand out too much; it's the anything goes time of year.

*sigh* It's a ripple. I bought the car that way. A previous owner must have been hit in the drivers door or had it hit when it was open, and then hired a pretty poor repair shop. The door is rippled as you see, the clear coat was poorly applied and they used a very aggressive sander which left major indents, and the car had a standard Focus mirror. I've considered getting it fixed right, but considering that the door is rusting, I'll probably just swap it out someday down the road.

oh yeah I see. Sucks how easy it is to tell a car has had body work before. my front quarter panels like 1 shade darker then the rest, i mean it seems to be quality work but think its about damn imposable to get anything to match perfectly

There's a body shop close to me that does a great repair job. I took my old Focus to them when someone hit it in a parking lot and you can't tell that anything ever happened, but the damage was low down and on a black car so fading wouldn't have been such an issue. It's just a shame that my first Focus is rusting so bad right now. My dad bought it from me and we have been unable to stop the rust on it. That was a great first car.

Did some more work on the roof. Still more to go but it's getting there.

The B pillars are not done yet (ones still gray and I painted the other black as a test but then decided to sand them all down smooth), The passenger side A and C pillars are outside getting sanded and painted, several trim pieces are still unpainted and gray, the handles are still not done, and the passenger side sun visor is still drying outside of the car. It's a work in progress but I am loving it so far.

PlastiDipped my lug nuts. I never dreamed it would work so well but they look and are holding up great. (ignore the little white specks. I used a very linty cloth to clean the dirt of them and didn't notice how linty the were till I uploaded the pics)

I'm also in the process of redoing the eyelids black but they are not done yet.

Interior Build Stage 2

The ceiling blackout portion of the interior build is now complete. The interior from the belt line up used to all be a light gray, but after some work, it is now black. All I needed to do this was black spray paint and a can of black paint. For the A, B, and C pillars, I sanded them down smooth (taking out all the little bumps that are manufactured into them) and sprayed them. The headliner was simply brushing on the black paint while all the trim that could be removed was sprayed outside the car with the ones that couldn't were done inside. It was a lot of work and the car smelled like paint for many days but I am very happy with the results.

(The camera's flash shows the headliner as a dark gray but it is black in person)

Time for a quick update of what's been happening for the past week or so.

Did a bit more work on the interior even though I got distracted by other things. I closed in the amp and made the shelf underneath. There is going to be another storage area under that but it's still a work in progress.

First thing that distracted me: removing the antenna and rewiring one inside so I still get reception.

And I also have started working on a black top. I'll get some pictures of when it's moved along a bit farther.
