I got lazy and stuck these to the underside/side of of the headlight rather than opening them up again. lol But yeah, I've had those light open way to many times.

The colors not really that bad it's just that I like my existing ones just a little bit better. Plus, it save a lot of fancy wiring since I didn't have to try and get the orange to work as parking light and still have the option of using white LEDs. It would have been a mess to get them to work right.

I really like the orange color, though. It's not red at all and is a good brightness.

No, not when the car is moving. However, when it's stationary, you can do pretty much whatever you want for lighting.

"Teaser"

I'll get more info and pictures when I do the other side but it probably want happen this the middle of next week.

Basically, I opened the PS taillight, removed the reflector and slightly reshaped the inside, and installed four strips of LEDs.

The way they are hooking up right now are the LED as the taillight, and for safety and legal reason, the OEM bulb is still serving as the brake light and turn signal.

all of those lights, he has on toggle switches so he can turn them on/off as he chooses..
as far as vehicle inspections, he should be fine.
also certain inspection facilities tend to look the other way and let certain things pass, sometimes for a small fee.

I'm confused. Do you still have the white ones in? And do these switchbacks have another color on them?

^^ This.

When the car is in normal running condition, it is completely legal and will pass inspection without any issues. As Daniel said, the blue lights are all on a switch which I can turn on or off at any time.

Legally, I can have any color lighting on the car as long as the car is not moving on a public road. In other words, I can legally have them on when parked in a parking lot or driving in my own driveway. I can even have them turned on when the car is parked for inspection because the car is not moving. It's only when the car is driving down a public road that I am not allowed to have the blue lights on for the main reason that no one mistakes me for a police car with blue lights.

Yes, the white led strip is still in the headlights like before.

Here's an example of how a switchback led strip works. I'm only using the orange on my strips but I can hook up the whites any time I'd like.
