SEL to ST brake conversion

Has anyone upgraded their front brakes to st brakes. what all parts would I need to convert them over. I liked the feel of the st brakes when I test drove it. I'm due for replacement in the next 6 months and figured GO BIGGER !

I only want to hopefully use oem ford parts for the conversion i.e no wildwood , power stop etc

Thanks folks!

I drive a 2012 SEL

RDC is coming out with this kit soon. Mike has already done the swap on his sedan.

I know that the escapes brakes are the same as the ST's at least that's what I have read so far.

Not exactly, they may be the same size, but the calipers and pads are different. People have been putting the escape pads on by grinding off some tabs on the pads and suffering with reduced brake performance in the name of trying to have less brake dust.

you can put the ST brakes straight on! no issue at all, here are some pics, hope they help :-)

*NOTE* the ST calibers are bigger than stock so the factory 16'' or 17" rims will more than likely scratch the calibers, (at least off set 40) you may need to put on a pair of at-least 7mm spacer or best choice to get a set of new rims.

I'd look at better brakes; one of the car rags recently ran some laps at Laguna Seca in an ST and toasted the brakes and was the only car that had to be flat bedded back to the shop since they've been doing this annual lap run of sporty cars. That was really the only negative they noted about the ST and it was kind of a big one.

I'm probably just going to go with the stoptech stage 2 slotted brake kit from RDC with some yellow stuff pads.

Why anyone would install factory pads when performing this upgrade is beyond me. Add some Hawk or Yellow Stuff pads on the 12.6 inch rotor setup, and you're ready to rock for the cheap.
