Moving this to the MkIII section for the quickest replies, though it might fit nearly as well in the Car Audio section.

No scan annoys me too (I mentioned it on this forum), but most radios have lacked that feature for eons. My FM reception seems OK but AM is terrible.

Cool, thanks for the antenna tip!
Did it help AM radio too? My AM is so poor that I wonder if there is a separate antenna that is not connected.

There's a TSB for poor AM:

5599 - 2011-2013 Multiple Vehicle Lines - Poor AM Reception
Some 2011-2013 Explorer / Fiesta, 2012-2013 Focus, 2013 Flex may exhibit poor AM radio reception with no FM or satellite reception concerns. Review Owner Guide, Entertainment System, Radio Reception Factors for a description of characteristic radio reception influences. Follow Workshop Manual section 415-00, pin point test "A" to diagnose AM reception concerns. Service inventories have been updated with a revised antenna assembly (18936). Use existing service labor operations for antenna diagnostics and replacement.

Cool, thanks.
Searched for more info via google, and this board came up - Sounds encouraging!

I'll add this it to my growing dealer todo list... They shut down so many dealerships (one was very near me - now is a Kia) that it's a long drive for me and not near work. Not convenient at all.

Kind of sad to google this problem and see so many threads on different fords having this issue - guess they got a bunch of bad antennas from a supplier. The threads usually end with finding the TSBs (there were 2 TSBs according to one thread) or a loose wire.

VegaChicago is your car a hatchback? I just measured mine and a 16" is going to hit the hatch when It's open?
