More coats the better. Do maybe 5 or 6 light coats.

This. Also make sure you clean the wheels really well.

All of these. 4 cans were not enough for me to go from painted black to plastidipped white on my 5-spokes.

Stick note cards between the wheel and tire to avoid overspray. It's easier than taping everything up. Like this guy:

Plastidiped Wheels, Whiskers, and Fog Bezels

And I also used the card method with the wheels, works great!

Make sure you spray light coats. That is the key to getting it to look nice. If you try to sray it too thick it looks like crap.

i used the card trick and it ended up making the edges come out bad. you dont have to worry about over spray with plasti dip. make sure you do a heavy coat around the outside and it will peel right off the tire leaving a clean edge.

well i ended up doing it yesterday and to say the least it came out like crap! I already peeled it off my wheels. It was super sticky and had lots of texture on the finished product. Idk what I did wrong because ive plasti dipped other pieces of my car that came out great. I heard i may have had a bad batch of plasti dip. IDK it sucks though I spent like $50 on that crap.

You should've hit it with a coat of clear wheel paint. Would've got rid of the roughness and made it look much better.
