Taped off the lip with 1/2" 3M green painters tape, then used some 2" blue tape over that to cover the tire partially and spray away. Started to spray in the middle working my way out towards the lip and as soon as I was done spraying I removed the tape. One wheel I got some on the lip area before I was ready to and it peeled a little, I just retaped that 3 inch section and resprayed. I love the texture/finish of this stuff.

IMO there's some things you should just paint for real if it's 100% not going back like when hiding scuffs or something. I'd paint interior pieces since Plasti-dip is only so durable on parts that would see constant handling or being touched like the interior.

^^^^Not sure why vent rings ever need to be touched, but I see your point. Its a easy alternative to paint. No scuffing, no primer/adhesion promoter, and no clearcoat. Add all that up cost wise and it is a cost effective solution to painting.

It's not that expensive for something permenent;I did my fender flares on my 4Runner using adhesion promoter, paint and clearcoat and spent less than $20. Plasti-dip is cool but in some cases it's starting to become kinda ghetto. I get it if you don't want it to be permenent but I like doing things once and right the first time on something that would never go back.
