What ever, numbers don't lie and untill people start showing time slips it's all talk. I can show proof of what SVT's runs because of all the time slips posted on here (not mine I admit).I admit there may be non SVT's that are as fast as an SVT but my point was the majority of non SVT are not as fast and the non svt's that are do not have the extra's of a svt (handling, braking, six speed getrag, etc...). I never meant to put down anyones cars just stating the simple fact you people are always trying to compare 13K dollar mass produced focus's to limited production 20K dollars focus's. I give up on this whole topic, most of you live in a dream land anyways.

you wanna compare limited productions? sure why not

2106 Escort ZX2 S/R's made with a good driver 1/4 : 15.4 .85g cost 16k - fully loaded
SVT Focus: god driver 1/4: 15.3 .86g cost 20k - (dependin on options posibly more)

you have 30more whp an can only run .1 faster. for $200 i can have a pots mod, free intake mods, and a lil TB mod and drop about .1-.2 off the time (depending on temp), a EGT swaybar and gain back teh .01g and still cost less then your car and still have $3800 to buy rims that look better then teh svt's and be able to install abeter sound system then the SVT's

so please tell me how costing 4k makes it a better car? OH and all the mods that cost less then $200 will also keep it under warrenty.

Type R is rated at a 14.8 and the PZEV is rated at 15.9 withyour bolt ons if youre a good driver you should be hitting pretty low 15's so if hes not too good of a driver and depending on reaction time you may have a slight chance. But if he gets a better reaction time than you hes gonna cross the line first. As for SVT's I have only raced 2 of them at a track they were both stock and I beat both of them with just my Intake and ehxaust so its not too hard for a 2.3 to get in SVT territory. and for time slips i have never personally seen an svt hit a 15.3 stock. I know it can happen but it all depends on a driver. I have seen an svt run a 16.0 stock.

But then you would have a fast escort. I would rather loose in a SVT then win in a Escort. Like I said I don't race my car so I don't really care about how fast this and how fast that. Consumer Reports picked the 04 SVT as "Most Fun Car to Drive" out of damn near all cars on the market, I think that says alot right there. About the rims, why would you want to pimp out an escort with sweet ass rims just to say they are nicer than the SVT's? I would not have bought any compact car if it was not for the SVT. I bought it for the SVT name not cause it was a focus. I could have just as easily bought a new Taurus but bought the SVT instead because it is special. Be happy with your Focus's but don't make them out to be the ricer race cars from Fast and the Furious because they are not. Whey are you people going around racing your grocery getters anyways?

kaiten2 you were nice with your comments about the SVT, thanks. I think the driver of the SVT(s) at the track the same night as you were very bad drivers. Right out of Focus Fanatics they ran the SVT 15.38@90.23 (page 25 in the old mag) bone stock.Stick a intake ($150) and some UDP's ($90) on the SVT and you would have a huge diffrence right there. So its easy to say they couldn't drive. You must be a pretty good driver. Lets not go by how high 1/4 mile times a bad driver gets cause if that is the case I could probably run the 1/4 in 17 or 18 sec. easy.

lmao @ svt running a 15.3 bone stock. that was the fastest time reported that i saw from an SVTF. besides dave trying to say he ran a 14.8 stock back in the day. man that guy was funny.

go to the track man, most SVTFs will run a 15.8-16.1. With things like TC and the fact that the getrag isnt made for the dragstrip really keeps the SVTF from feeling like it has anywhere near 170hp. i had one too at one point so im not just talking out of my ass. my friend out here had an svt with tc and the audiophile and sunroof, everything, and id beat him light to light all day when i just had a volant, tb, and the afx pulley.

im not trying to clown on the SVTF, but get off your high horse and realize you arent driving a blown gto on the bottle.

I think it has to do with a lot of things for different people. For most it that we cant afford a Evo WRX or GT. FOr others they dont want a car that everyone and their mother has like a honda a Mustang etc... And for some they like the tuning and the fact that sport compact car tuning is still new to the scene and it makes them excited doing the "new" thing. Some people just like the look of a focus and all the options that are out there for it.

EuroZX3 buy the old edition of Focus Fanatics and check out page page 25. Right there in black and white they ran it in 15.38 get a real good driver with a couple of attempts and he/she may be able to shave that .08 off of that time. If you still think the 15.3 (or 15.38 to be more exact) is B.S. call Focus Fanatics up and take it up with them.

kaiten2 I don't even race my SVT cause I now there are alot faster cars than mine out there. That is why when I win the lottery I'm going to just buy the Ford GT. Only problem is I don't play the lottery so it will be awhile. If you think about it how greatly are your odds improved by playing the lottery? It has been proven that a person is more likely to be struck lightning than win the lottery, those are some crappy odds.

umm sidney, hate to break your heart but not all svtf's were created equal, and not all people can drive their svtf. in the FF mag was it a professional driver? emphasis on the "professional". go troll around the SVTF forum as you should, and see what other owners are really running.
