225/40-17 w/2" drop rubbin??

Looking at dropping my ZX3 2.5" and running 225/40-17 shoes. Their the same height and an inch wider(24.1"/8.9"). Has anyone run this combo or know if I'll have rubbing problems? Would like to get my ducks in a row before buying and having to post up for a loss.

I can tell you on my second gen with only a 1.5" drop I rub all the time. Really bad when there is someone in the car with me. I have the same tire size.

All in the inside liner. My buddy I'm at his house now owns a 07 sedan on sportlines and he says he constantly rubs on the same tire

well that goes with out saying. Is this on a standard focus 17x7 wheel? Most aftermarket wheels are usually lower offset, so that will increase the chance of rubbing as well.

Of course you can always roll your fenders and modify your fender liners, depending where exactly you rub at. That would help some as well.

I'm looking at buying the EAP's. I'll roll the wheel well lips and go from there. If they're rubbing on the inside, i have a buddy at a machine shop that can make me aluminum spacers from 1/8" up.
