Yes I love my car little niggles aside. It's like driving a car that costs about 10k more than this one base.

And the the DCT is still very very fun too play with it may not be the purists true manual but if they offered one on the ST I would take it in a heartbeat.

Tho too put the DCT on the st would require them mating the diesel focus dct (higher torque rating.) to the Ecoboost 2.0L.

Now that would be a fun setup right there.

Just bought a Titanium HB with 800 miles on it (used) last week for my wife. It is Titanium white with 401A, Arctic White interior package, winter package, and the parking technology package. She loves it - especially the camera!!

I've been allowed to drive it several times and I like it. It needs a manual tranny like my Fiesta SES has!! I know - wait for the ST. I just may do that although I would have to sell the Fiesta.

My only complaints:
  • Oil down 1/2 quart (selling dealer should have caught this)
  • Tire pressure was 25PSI rather than 35 PSI (selling dealer should have caught this)
  • Hatch was misaligned (original owner must have missed this!)

I was able to align the hatch correctly and had to shim it on the drivers side hinge and where the spoiled is fastened with two bolts.

No real complaints. I have already contacted my tech who told me about several issues that were "addressed" by other dealers. I will watch for any repeat symptoms and he and I will check the work to make sure it was done correctly when I get the oil changed for the first time at 3,000 miles.

I guess I just got one of the "good" ones.

Think mine started "gesticulating" this morning. Is there a TSB for that yet? ; )

Really? Japanese cars have fewer problems? Wow, I would love to see the data...

I bet if you took all the reliability data from the last 50 years...the japanese cars would be about dead even with any other brands...

OR, just dont buy any new technology in its first year or two..

I'm OK with the technology in my wife's new Focus. I'm not convinced Japanese cars are any better or any more reliable either. I can say that I never see any 50s, 60s or 70s models of Japanese cars at car shows and cruise nights (not even any 240Zs). That is a good thing. I remember the original boxy and very cheap looking early Japanese cars well.

This is a great point. For years that has been a true statement. But if you want to be first one on your block with the new toy, it comes with the territory.

I would say it is the vocal minority that posts about their Foci. There are plenty of people out there who do not and would not participate on a Forum. If the Foci are running great they may never find FF. If they have a problem they will find FF thru a Google search and there first post will be of a problem they have.

Last weekend I helped my father-in-law with his Lexus LS 460. He could not figure out how to get their version of MyFordTouch to recognize his phone and some other issues. I must say that the MFT is more intuitive than Lexus set up.

I am not denying that MFT has a glitch, but I believe with time and education our MFT and DCT will be a shinning star for Ford.

Excellent point. And Lexus is designed, built and sold by Toyota.

I love my focus, the power for a fuel efficient car,the compliments I get on it and I am excited to drive it.All cars have problems and considering this is an entry level car I think they did a great job. I test drove other types Kia Forte,Volkswagon Jetta,Subaru Impreza and liked the Focus the best.
