One dealer I get my parts through says the strut bearings are on backorder until mid-September.

FINALLY !!!
After taking my car in on 5 seperate occasions, twice leaving it at the dealership for DAYS, they acknowledged the noise !!! Amazing how prior to a TSB being issued nothing was there, and now they noticed it. Funny thing is, this time they said "It sounds like it is getting worse"...Wouldn't you have to hear it on one of the other 4 times to notice if it is worse or not?? At this point, I have to take my car it yet again and leave it for 5-6 hours then go back and pick it up. With them dragging their feet everytime I have an issue, I am a bit concerned if I have any additional problems if they keep pushing back until my warranty expires. I am debating whether or not to buy an extended warranty, or just cut my losses and get another vehicle with a better warranty. I love my Focus, but I cannot afford to pay for all the repairs once the warranty runs out. If they would fix the problems and/or acknowledge the problems right away I wouldn't be as concerned. What happens when I have a problem at 35,000 miles? Do the miraculously notice it at 36,001 and hit me with the bill? I am already out hundreds of dollars from missed work to go to the dealer over and over, should I have to fork out a couple thousand more to make sure my new car can stay on the road a year from now? Maybe I am asking too much, but I would think with the documented history on my vehicle, a complimentary extended warranty courtesy of Ford is completely reasonable! Maybe not... I will report back once they do the work on Thursday and let everyone know how it goes! FINGERS CROSSED !!! |

The dealer just called ... they hear no noise .... ugh! I am an hour and 1/2 away. I will have to stop by there tomorrow morning before work and "show" them the noise...

This is, to me, a problem. There's a TSB: nuff said. This is really a black eye for Ford when it's really a dealer issue where they simply aren't doing the work unless they hear it. Do you really want unhappy customers? And I can understand they probably deal with a lot of issues with customers but frankly, mechanic shops just bring this upon themselves with dishonesty and poor customer service.

I drove the service tech with me a couple times and each time either they didn't hear it, or claimed it was normal. Odd thing was, they could not replicate the sound with any of the other Focus' on the lot. Keeping me fingers crossed for ya !! |
