You da man.
They are $25.53 apiece. I honestly don't foresee them fitting our struts due to the part number change. If it only had a different letter at the end I would believe it would fit.

If you decide to try it, I would start with one side and have a backup stock bearing, just in case it didn't fit. I'm inclined to believe, based on the positive reports coming in, that the new bearings are indeed working.

On a side note, dispite my glowing review of my service department sent via Thomas and my previous documentation of having the problem, today is a black day. I just placed my bearings on order.

Sounds like someone may be putting the screws to you a bit. That part # sells for $16.37 plus tax. I have no clue if it will fit the factory struts though.

Looking at the parts catalogue exploded view, the AD-1098 part is the strut mount, not the strut bearing. However, it is listed as being different from the standard strut mount on the non-ST Focus, which leads me to believe that they dial a bit more camber into the front suspension over the base Focus strut mounts.

It seems that the ST still uses the same strut bearing (AD-1094) as the rest of the lineup, for now.

I'll be picking up the strut mounts anyway, since my car's lowered. I could use the extra camber.

So, that being said, I'll be ordering the ST mounts and a new set (L & R) of front bearings, which I'll probably pair up with some Koni Yellows (for the Mazdaspeed3) all around. Guess I'll order the mounts and bearings, and then work on ordering the Konis at the end of the month.

You are exactly correct, I just went back and double checked that. The basic 18183 is the mount. Odd that only this piece would be diff for an ST focus but that seems to be the case

I don't have access to this type of information. Please check with your dealer to see if they can provide these details to you.

I hope they're continuing to go above and beyond the call of duty! What do you mean by, "today is a black day?" Are you referring to the fact that parts need to be ordered?

Thomas

Thomas
I believe that means the fact that the dealer refused to repair the vehicle desipte the condition having been documented previously and therefore they would have to order the parts and tackle the job themself, but I can't speak for them, only based on what they said elsewhere on here.

Unfortunately, Thomas, Suss is correct. They have decided to no longer acknowledge the noise, despite me driving their lead tech and him acknowledging the issue. I would be less disappointed had they actually followed the TSB and attached the chassis ears before claiming that the noise didn't exist.

I have access to a shop with tooling so I just ordered the replacement bearings.

Hey Dyn,
I have to do my own as well since I have the Eibachs installed. Which part number is the right one for the bearings you ordered?

If you do these yourself, please post up a procedure if you don't mind. I just had back surgery yesterday so I won't be able to do mine for a while, but it looks like I'll probably have a local shop do them for me.

Thanks bro.
