Thomas,

You'll see on another page that I did call the dealer and they weren't sure about the newest TSB. They're way too busy this week cause of the holiday but I was going to take it in for an oil change in the next week or so, so I may stop by the service area then and see what they say.

Casey

Well, I guess I'll have to order new strut bearings and mounts, and give this fix a shot.

No sir, my car shows no sign of this issue. I would just like to have as much information posted here as possible for those who are struggling to have this issue fixed.

Thanks for you help Thomas.

I have to. My local Ford dealerships either won't acknowledge there's a problem, or they won't touch the car because I've installed lowering springs, even though my complaints have been documented from ~600 miles.

I'm probably going to at least try next week. I spoke with my service personnel, and they seemed receptive to fixing it despite the drop. Maybe because it's been documented, maybe because they have been an awesome dealership.

If they don't or don't want to, it's no big to me as the parts are inexpensive and I have access to my buddies strut spring compressor. Let us know how it turns out.

I've noticed this on my Ti, had it in today for service and a couple recalls. Had them listen to it, they are replacing the driver's side strut and link, on order. Hope it's in this week as I'm off and can easily drop it off.

I spoke to the tech today and he must really think im a MORON. he said its normal noise and he verified it with some other Foci on the lot... I was like then they are all F'ked up too. OMFG This dealer is a royal pain in the ass... if this tech is the best they have, I feel sorry for the rest of them. I will be calling my Ford Cust Serv rep on Thursday morning to get this resolved. This dealer can KMA if they have no intention of Fixing my car. BTW the new Escape is pretty sweet and the Ecoboost 2.0 got some Cahonas. Only prob I had so far is only 22-23 city MPG.

It's funny when they cant figure out whats wrong with the car, It must regular sound of the suspension design in the car.

I called my dealer yesterday and told him about the TSB which indicated to put the chassis ears on the car and go for a drive. I also asked him if they had done that yet, in which he replied no. ?!?!?! Doesnt seem like they want to do anything more than ford warranty will pay them for, Including troubleshooting.

I think there is a page in the Service Technician Manual that tells them to say "That is normal, they all do that", when there is a not an easily identifiable cause for a suspension problem. My Ti doesn't do it, yet, so my car must be the broken one.

A local Ford dealer pulled this same act on me with my 08 F150. I brought it in near the end of the 3/36K for a speed dependent vibration that was not always present, but when it was present it could become rather harsh. They drove it, felt it, told me it was "normal" and that there wasn't anything they "would" do about it. This "normal" vibration progressively got worse and stayed in the truck for the next 40K miles. It was there the day I traded it in to the dealer that mis-ordered my Ti. When they asked me if there was anything wrong with the truck, I told them "Nope, everything is normal". They didn't bother to test drive before they took possession, and I was smiling the whole time after we signed away the title and left the dealership.
