Having the same clunking issue as everyone else it seems Titanium Hatch without sport package. Had it to the dealership twice, first time they acknowledged the clunk and replace a tie rod end, second time was me going back saying that fixed absolutely nothing, them looking at it again and saying we cant replicate the problem, there is nothing wrong.
Going to call them tomorrow and ask about the TSB.

MDs (yellow tag) are only on the Ti handling pkg front. There's a bunch of threads out there discussing it.

No more clunk

I picked up my Focus SE today and no more clunk. Service lady said that ford issued a TSB on 6-27-12 that covered my car. They replaced the whole strut assembly on both sides and realigned it. I hope this does it.

I made my mistake, and for this I apologize I already acknowledged that I lost one internets. Do you think I should have lost more?

There are almost 2 billion threads in the Third Gen Section. I do what I can, but I must unfortunately admit that I am not perfect and can not track every individual post. Somehow, I missed this one apparently glaringly evident fact.

Ok, I will forfeit one more internets. Just this one time. I am now down two internets.

They replaced both struts? The TSB calls for new springs and bearings along with the knuckle bolt and top nut.

Don't get me wrong, I'm really glad to hear that your clunk is gone. It's just frustrating when mechanics throw entire assemblies at a problem. Though, in all fairness, maybe your struts were actually part of the problem.

We do it in aviation too...

Nah, I don't think you should lose any.

The fact that there are a bunch of discussion threads just means things aren't necessarily straightforward.

My fronts were red tagged, I have the SE with Sport Handling Package. I got a call from Ford today and they said that the "new" Ford dealer i have to go to, talked to me the day I took it in and had advised me it was "Normal" Noise coming from the front of the car. I told her they were full of "S**T" pardon my french. They never told me anything. They must think Im F'n stupid. I am definitely not playing their F'n games, I told the lady from Ford that if need be I will contact an Attorney, but don't want to get them involved unless a last resort.

Glad to hear there is a TSB addressing the issue, I've noticed the clunk becoming more and more prevalent. Time to call the stealership.

You don't need our vin numbers, just tell the higher ups to pick any one and go for a ride. They called the hotline about mine and are waiting for a response as am I.

jrn146 and Sonic_HedgeHog -

Have you called your dealer's about the new front-end information yet? If you'd like, I will need your VIN, mileage, phone #, and dealer info to loop in your Customer Service Manager's.

You both are correct! I'll talk about the TSB at the end of this post.

Please keep us all updated on the progress at your dealer!

Excellent; when do you go in for service? If you haven't sent me your info, please PM your VIN, mileage, phone #, and dealer; I'll forward these details to your Customer Service Manager.

Your dealer will be able to fill you in on the Technical Service Bulletin. Do you need to schedule an appointment with them?

We will continue to monitor this thread; thanks for keeping us updated! If you'd like, PM me your VIN, mileage, phone #, and dealer info; your Customer Service Manager will then coordinate with you and the dealer.

For all, thanks for the feedback on the front-end noise. After many posts and threads were made about this, we contacted our reps. This TSB was just announced last week. If anybody is experiencing a front-end noise, please schedule an appointment with your dealer as soon as possible. If you all need anything, you know how to find me.

Later,

Thomas
