2012 Titanium Front Strut Low Speed Noise (Clunk/Rattle)

Welp...my dealer just called me. They are going to replace the ENTIRE front suspension system, struts, springs, blah blah. However, the parts are on back order (no surprise after reading through this thread haha). 2-3 weeks til they come in.

The strut bearing part number is the same as TSB 11-11-2.
The part numbers for the springs have changed.

It really sucks to hear that the bearings are the same. I've been trying to locate my prior service paperwork in order to check the bearing part numbers. I stopped into my Service dept today on the way home and picked up a copy of the TSB. I assume you are a tech or have the previous TSB?

As a small clarification for those who are seeing all of these numbers and getting confused (mainly me), the publication date of TSB 12-6-17 is 6-27-12. It supersedes 11-11-2 to update the production fix date (built before 4-2-12) and parts list.

I guess we will look to those who have had success with it and see if it is a lasting fix. I will probably take my car in in the next couple of weeks and let them put the chassis ears on my car. Then, they can determine whether they are going to do the work under warranty (just lowered my car two-ish weeks ago) or if I need to just order the parts myself.

I can't imagine the springs being the fix, considering the fact that I just changed mine (Eibach) and my clunk is exactly the same. But I don't want to be the nay-sayer, I really hope this TSB fixes the vehicles of those with issues. Time will tell

this is exactly what they applied to my Ti Hatch (March 12th 2012 build)... TSB 11-11-2 (I also read somewhere on the various workorders that it was a green label springs). Parts were back ordered and I had to wait about 3 weeks.

Clunking is completly gone and I'm a happy camper!

Even though I hope it doesn't come back to your car, I would hope you would update us if it does.

I don't think it is a safety issue, so I'm not overly concerned. But hearing it every day is really annoying. I think the green springs are for the Ti with Handling package. There are also red and yellow, which I believe cover the standard and touring suspensions.

I hope your car does well!

hmmm ok, but my Ti Hatch is the regular one without the handling package, so... looks like they took springs from the other model. Anyhow, it has been a week today, and I did all possible tests with mine. Prior to the fix, the clunking was present when I was alone but it was quiet... but when I had passengers, it was a clunking symphony in the front, to a point that it was really disturbing, even with normal-to-loud music playing! After the fix, it's a smooth and quiet ride.

I don't want to get too excited as I've read posts from other folks who had to go back after a few weeks.

I've got lots of mileage planned for July and will report back later in the month.

If it's fixed for good then I'm glad that I was able to have it fixed with only 1 visit to the dealer!

That is odd, green tag springs came off my Ti with handling package and currently reside in my Eibach box...
I hope I'm not colorblind Maybe I had the wrong springs...

Rotated my tires and if I'm not color blind, I had yellow tags (Ti handling pack here). I haven't taken my car to any dealer yet.

Ok, so apparently my rear springs are green, my front are yellow. I don't understand why they would be two different colors...I guess I just saw the rear and assumed they were all the same...

I lose one internets for this folly.
