Let me know how that retrofit goes for you... I've been considering the same thing.

Clunking Problem

So this is the 4th time in to the dealership for the clunk. The first 3 times i got the scripted "Cannot replicate" responce. This time i printed off the lemon law for washington state and highlighted the qualifications and left it on the passenger seat then dropped the car off. I called the dealership at 4pm last night to see what they found. They said that the tech was on the phone with Ford Tech. to see if any TSB's or troubleshooting they recomended to find the problem. Im thinking they seen the little paperwork i left in the car. I left the car overnight so hopefully i get some good news today.

I hope it works. I'd rather replace the bad parts with time tested replacements instead of parts that will fail again three months down the road.

Good luck!

Well the dealer has no vested interest in repairing your vehicle. If the techs aren't doing anything, then they can spend their free time working on a warranty issue, otherwise the dealership is completely independent of FoMoCo and could care less if your car is a lemon. That's my experience anyway. They can bill out $100/hour to traditional customers and only get to take what ford offers for warranty work.

If they see you as a potential customer, then they can work with you to try to get another commission perhaps.

Dropped mine off at the dealer this morning. Brought printouts of the service receipts posted in this thread - thanks again for sharing those. Service advisor drove around with me for a couple minutes and he heard the noises. They said there might be a TSB out for something related, though I've never heard of one mentioned here on FF.

Will update when I hear from the dealer...

smccarvey and dyn085, keep the thread on topic and stop the bickering. If you feel the need to discuss something off the topic feel free to make your own thread. If you two want to go back and forth with words, please take it to PM.
