So, basically I need to wait for some aftermarket company to come out with a compatible strut setup for the Mk3 Focus and go with Mazda3 strut bearings and upper strut mounts.

My car has a late 2012 production date as well.

Why would you have to do that if replacing the strut assemblies solves the problem ? I'd damn well make sure Ford fixes it for free ... even if you plan on swapping out the struts later with aftermarket parts.

Do you guys who had the problem solved by replacing the strut assemblies have a TSB or FSA number for the fix ?

Thanks ... because I have the issue as well, and my car has an 08/2011 build date.

What is the TSB associated with this fix, please ?

There isn't a tsb that I know of. Just a few people on the board that have their struts replaced because of the noise. If you bring it back enough times they have to do something.

Replacing the strut assembly can work because whatever component making the noise will be removed. The problem is that if it is replaced with the same component, you may have the problem return once the part is placed under daily stress. It really depends on what exactly is wrong. So far no one has exactly pinpointed it. The issue could be the same thing for everyone or just a related problem. For example, they use similar bolts on the subframe and struts.

Well, I tried that. I got Ford Customer Service to handle my case and I've had my car into two different dealers. The first refused to acknowledge the noise, called the suspension normal and the symptoms characteristic of the touring suspension. Then they had an attitude with me when I insisted there was a problem. So, I took my car to a second dealer.

The second, I had the service manager ride with me, however, the roads were too damn smooth around the dealer, and any bumps I did find were not sufficient enough to replicate the noise.

I like the car. I hate the noise. I just want an aftermarket solution that not only makes the noise disappear, but also gives me a better handling car. Koni yellows would be perfect.

I agree ... I hate it too.

I'm going to take mine in and I'm sure they'll do something. If they have to replace the whole front end I don't care, but I'm not going to give them a pass on it and try to fix it myself.

They'll work until it's fixed as far as I'm concerned. I want a FACTORY solution ... not one that costs me a dime.

That what you'll have to do, I had to take the service rep out and show him, because the tech drove and didn't hear anything. The Rep heard the noise and is wanting to make sure it gets fixed, he even told me more Foci are trickling in with the same noise.

Mine was dropped off this morning and is "Under the Knife". lol The rental they put me in is a Crown Vic. LMAO!. I should go park in the median at lunch today and point a laser pointer at the approaching cars and watch them nose dive. ;)
