Ford Transit Connect, built in Turkey, imported as a passenger van with windows and seats. The seats and windows are usually removed and metal panels fitted in the U.S. to circumvent the Chicken Tax, then the cars are sold here as commercial vehicles.

I don't think I'd go as far as calling it junk, but I'd say there's a good reason 99% of them are sold as company vehicles where the person who has to drive it every day doesn't have any say in what they get to drive. It does it's job, but I certainly would never buy one for myself.

The best part is ... the tax was created to protect the likes of Ford, Chevy, etc... and instead, Toyota and Honda and others build plants here to avoid it while Ford imports the Transit and has to circumvent it. Pretty funny when you think about it

I'd like to say that the Dysan method got rid of the squeak, but it didn't. I think it might have slightly helped a little though. It got warmer today than it has been, so it squeaks/creaks a lot less anyway.

I guess the next step is to go through all of the hassle of taking the car into the shop again so they can do the TSB and the noise can come back the next day as usual.

"Squeaks" sound like something unrelated to the bump-stop, so I'm not surprised.

Sounds like it, huh? Nevermind that the bump stop was indeed squeaking before I applied the Dysan method and the squeak it was making was almost identical to the on-going squeak. Does that surprise you, genius?

Interestingly enough, the guy at Phil Long Ford Chapel Hills that I just talked to about setting up an appointment decided to argue with a customer and tell the customer that there is no known issue with noise coming from the suspension on the Gen 3. Focus.... because automobile manufacturers apparently go through the trouble of writing TSB's for problems that don't exist. If I argued with customers at my job (especially if I were as clueless as that guy), I wouldn't have a job.

Perhaps Ford needs to have on-going communication with their front-line customer service people to keep them up-to-date. What a joke.

I did really like the car at one point, though. I wanted to keep liking it, but it's hard to like problems...especially the same problem that the 10 year old piece of junk I traded in for this problem-ridden model vehicle. It's one fine-looking car and at one point seemed well-built and worth the money. It consistently gets EXCELLENT gas mileage -- all the way from my home to the service department for those fun, days-long visits where nothing gets accomplished except wasting my time.

Yeah, they need a good 'talking to' alright.
