I'm have an appointment for Thursday morning to ride with a tech at a dealer and have them give another go at it. I had the TSB done a few months ago. Talked to by regional CSR a few times.

Luckily mine never seems to get louder. I have 35k miles, and I'm pretty used to the sound. Nothing is falling off or loosening up. I think its the exhaust. I can make happen by lugging the engine a bit. Sure sounds like the wheel or strut though. Whatever
I wish there was a way to reproduce the sound in our driveway. Then we could pinpoint the issue and resolve it ourselves. I certainly don't have access to chassis ears though. :(

I've read some of this thread, but has anyone unbolted the front swaybar?

Yep. I disconnected the endlinks, strapped the sway bar up, and went for a drive. No changes in noise.

Im wondering if it's the mounts as well, because I have the same sound produced when I almost stall... Hah and yeah sounds the same to me... I was reading a post about this guy with a mk1 having the same issue and the remedy was the passenger side mount.

The only thing I question if its the mounts is why does the sound seem more pronounced and easier to reproduce with a passenger. Does weight in the cabin have any effect at all on the mounts?

The engine mounts aren't connected to the suspension in any way, aside from the halfshafts. So, an increase in payload should not have any effect on the mounts.

Have you noticed whether the noise is more pronounced if the passengers are in the rear seat or the front seat?

Usually its a little harder to get it to clunk with just a passenger but it'll do it. Now with the car loaded down with 3 passengers it's guaranteed to do it every little crack in the road.

Upon further thought, It really can't be the mounts because why would the first repair on the right side have fixed it if the mounts were the source of the noise.

Its definitely noticeable for me now when turning for sure. Certainly does seem like its gotta be tied into the front sway bar like when one side is loaded it's allow something else to gain a little slack and move which causes the noise.

I should ALso add: If I can get the noise to occur, it's almost always when I'm slowing for a stop below 5mph braking.. So again were loading the front suspension.
