Yep and I knew there are several of you that it came back on. The only thing that gave me hope was having gone 10k on the right side with the noise having NOT come back. I also keep hoping that any day someone is going to post a real TSB Fix for this specific issue. If my noise comes back full force, I will probably look to dump the car as soon as I can.

Has anyone Lemon Law'd this car for this issue?

Doesn't the lemon law require 3 or more instances of the same issue in the first year? I wonder, with so many dealerships saying "It's normal" or "I don't hear anything" after the first fix, if anyone was even able to try

I don't know about any lemon law cases, but there have been some buy-backs reported on the site and many trades as well.

Generally the rule is over 30 days spent in the shop, or 3 instances for the same repair within a year IIRC.

For many, like myself, the hardest part was simply getting a dealer to agree to there being a problem. If a dealer won't agree to an issue and attempt a repair, then it's not documented as being in the shop, and a lemon law case won't stick.

It was easier to just trade my issues away.

Hope it sticks but I doubt it. Bit by bit it will come back, even with only 1 person in the car ... that's exactly what mine did.

I don't know why my fingers keep crossing themselves -- I am NOT superstitious. I DO hope that this fixes it for you and the clunk does not return. It would be even better if Ford would produce "a real TSB Fix for this specific issue" that answers the mysteries of why it returned for others after it had been "fixed", why some cars have this problem and others do not, and how close Zillon got to solving the problem before he ran out of patience.

(I just deleted another half page from this before posting it. It was a rant in the form of an open letter to Ford Motor Company about putting customers through this kind of grief rather than making it right for them. I think it was a bit off topic, so I'm looking for a more appropriate thread to put it in. Maybe I'll have to figure out how to start a new one.)

NEVER be superstitious. It's bad luck.

Yep. Pulled into the driveway a tiny bit faster tonight and when the left side tire made contact with the curb. CLAK. Just like it did before the reapair. Coming into my development tonight I hooked a hard right turn and you can hear it clunking a bit. SO yeah. It'll be back in full force by the end of the week at this rate.

Sorry to hear that ..... but I'm not surprised.

In my opinion, Ford will never resolve this issue.

The only way it's ever going to get fixed is by actually finding the source of the sound. For some odd reason, nobody seems willing to trouble shoot noises the old fashioned way. Find the source of the noise and then insulate/tighten/isolate.

All it would take is TIME to use chassis ears and methodically narrow down the location until all the transducers are right next to each other. That might take a whole day, but man that has to cheaper than doing these TSB repairs on so many cars. It baffles me.

I'm have an appointment for Thursday morning to ride with a tech at a dealer and have them give another go at it. I had the TSB done a few months ago. Talked to by regional CSR a few times.

Luckily mine never seems to get louder. I have 35k miles, and I'm pretty used to the sound. Nothing is falling off or loosening up. I think its the exhaust. I can make happen by lugging the engine a bit. Sure sounds like the wheel or strut though. Whatever
