My car was repaired on 8/30 - mileage was approx. 9,950 then.

I've started to notice clunking again - possibly worse than it was pre-fix. I've put on about 3,500 miles since the fix.

Agh.

lane swerving? Ok, I thought it just might be me, but on the freeway/highway I did notice that mine wanders around in the lane a bit too much for me. I chalked it up to the sport package and the tires. Is there something else that might need to be looked at on this?

Well, tonight I decided to check all the hardware on the top end of the strut in an effort to see if it was simply a re-torquing issue.

I re-torqued the strut mount bolts, the strut center nut, and made sure everything was aligned properly. I'll will find out if my efforts have improved things at all on my commute into work tomorrow.

How was it? If this did it... This would be one DIY to pay for!

Seems to have quieted it down some, I'll give it a longer test drive after work.

It's an easy DIY to do yourself, actually; it just requires the removal of the upper cowl cover, wipers, and lower cowl. A few screws, clips, and bolts.

I've sent out a request for the official torque specs from Ford, though, just to compare notes. I torqued the center nut to 60 ft-lbs, and the strut mount bolts to 35.

-hope they dont tell you "this is proprietary information"...
