That's not the first difference between these two specific vehicles, as the 4/20 build SEL had to have FSA12B37 performed by the dealer prior to delivery and, if I recall correctly, suss6052 reported that his 4/23 build did not.

12B37 did not show up as required on ETIS, Ford owner, syncmyride,or any other source I was able to acess for my vehicle's vin number, so I would have to presume that the car was built with the latest specific transmission abs and power train calibrations available at this time.

A mass damper is a "harmonic absorber" to reduce the harmonic frequencies, or vibrations, they are tuned to. It's similar to how an intake resonator is tuned to reduce audible intake resonant frequencies.

Well...I def have the clunk back on the drivers side. I haven't heard it on the pass side yet. Both sides were clunking originally.

I'm not sure going back to the dealer will help at this point? What else can they really do? The TSB hasn't worked. Maybe it would have held out longer if I didn't take it on a trip right after it was done...I dunno. Just would have bought me time I guess. Either way...this really ticks me off that it is such a wide spread issue and still NO solution.

Buying it new means I took the immed depreciation hit. But I was willing to bite that for a NEW car...not one that sounds like a 30 year old abused taxi cab.

I've never even thought about a lemon law...but this has me ready to look into it.

I think all of us on this forum are here cause we are car guys/gals. My 85 year old grandma might not care...but WE DO.
