It did clunk; my dealer performed the TSB and it's doing well. Think of a CSM escalation as a record. He/she can coordinate with you and the dealer on any future repairs and alert other reps to the issue.

It is mounted to the same bracket on the back side of the strut that is shown in your photo above.

Where the rod end connects to the strut and the through bolt is shown with the threads pointing out toward the tire, the mass damper is on that bolt but on the opposite side of the bracket from the rod end.

I tried to get a decent picture of it, but I think I'd have to have it on a lift to get a useful one.

Not all Job 2 cars are missing the damper as far as I know, so I'm not sure where this inquiry will lead.

Good point, I'm only aware at this point that the job 2 SE Sport and the job 2 SEL don't have the mass damper. This should cover the "normal" suspension and "touring" suspension though, so that should only leave the "handling" suspension as the unknown. That is, unless there are more variations on the suspension parts that we are aware of.

What other job 2 cars are you aware of that have the mass damper, and what level of suspension is fitted?

Unless I'm mistaken my car appears to have the mass dampers and is a Job 2 SEL, since I'm able to see a bracket that appears like the car with the mass damper behind the wheel and disk brake assembly, but I could be mistaken, however the bracket shown without the mass damper is much smaller and appeared to be painted black vs being silver/ unpainted metal.

Is there any way you could be sure of that? Timthom62 stated that his sister has a job 2 SEL without the damper. It is very easy to take a picture of the back of the strut if you turn the wheel all the way in one direction.

Again, this could be leading nowhere, but we have nothing better to discuss in here, do we?

Thats the best I can do without turning the wheel and just reaching around
with my cellphone camera during a break from work.

It does appear to be a mass hanging from my RF strut assembly. 4/23/12 build Job 2 SEL which was supposed to have the standard suspension.

That is the date (9/15) my dealer gave me. With that said they called me this morning and the part came in. Sounds like they were waiting on the bearing. I have yet to make an appointment. Once I get the TSB done I'll send you all that info you wanted.
