Alright. Fronts are done. And I have to say that was THE WORST suspension job I've ever done! Maybe I wasn't doing it right, but that's what she said right?

So here are the front coils Eibach (left), vs factory (right).

The sway bar linkage was a bit tricky to remove before I realized there are flats for a 17mm open end to hold the link from rotating.

I did use spring compressors on the strut while it was still on the car. You will have to remove a couple screws from the facia that covers the wipers to access the top strut bolts. Wasn't too bad. I did notice our cars have a reinforced strut tower brace already. So I was pleased to work around it.

I did have to use a chisel to spread the lower strut mount. Also used a three foot pry-bar wedged in the lower control arm to give space to remove the entire strut. I wouldn't advise using a hammer to beat your strut out as some have said.

Instal of new springs can be done without leaving the spring compressed while putting it back on the vehicle.

Put everything back together. And take a drive with a big smile on your face!

Here is before:

And after:

EXTREMELY happy with performance!!! It could just be me, but the front end sounds much quieter for some reason. There is a bit of body roll still, but if you really get on a corner, you can feel it push right back. Ride is noticeably stiffer. But isn't that the point? lol

I bet you're glad that's over with! Looks like Ohio had some nice weather to work in today. Now you can enjoy your work over the weekend.

Did you happen to take measurements before to compare with after? Just curious if the final height is actually .8" lower than stock. If you feel so inclined, it might be nice to know how much it settles over the next 1000 miles.

Great to have the insight for when I do mine. +1 rep for you!

Edit: Guess I already gave you rep points and it won't let me do it again. Someone show newmission some appreciation from all of us!

Were you having issues with any clunking noise emanating from the front suspension as well?

I've been having the issue myself, and if the Pro Kits eliminated it for you, then I'll be getting them for sure.

No sway bar yet. Waiting for a front and rear set to come out. Haven't decided yet to go with the Steeda or Eibachs.

I was having the clunk noise in the front. But that's when I came from a Camry to the Focus. lol They let me drive another same model focus from the lot with the same clunk noise. So I shut up and took it for the car that it is.

And YES the new springs made a WORLD of difference in front end noise.
