How will it cost $500.00? Do a google search on the best price for the muffler and two Borla or other aftermarket exhaust tips. As far as labor goes, you're paying for removal of the Ford muffler, installation of Borla muffler and tips.

Of course any aftermarket custom muffler like Borla, Magnaflow or Flowmaster will change the sound and it won't be quiet but I think it will have a more pleasing sound then simply removing the muffler altogether.

Ultimately having a 4 cylinder engine doesn't help whenn it comes to sound unless you're doing a COMPLETE exhaust system replacement and that's well over $500.

I just went with this for the time being. Happy with its look so far. It's an Alpena #15051 chrome exhuast tip from the local auto parts store. Should do for now.

The sound isnt to bad, I did this the first day I got the car pretty much, but I have noticed the car does drone around 55-70MPH in 5th and 6th gear. I am looking for something to make it sound near stock without showing any piping.

Just caught the new clip RED, and mine doesn't sound anywhere near what yours does. Kinda cool there is a slight difference between the mods, perhaps depending on tip and diameter???? Kinda gives it a custom one of a kinda tweak!

I'm still planning on recording a drive-by with my condenser mic once this SNOW melts! DID HE SAY THE "S" WORD!?!?! lol

I'll still HIGHLY endorse this mod!!!! Our cars already have a full stainless exhaust, why spend $500 just to have name brand status? I personally don't get it...

I doubt its the tip that causes the sounds difference, I am also running with out the top of my air box so I am getting my engine noice

I don't know... But I do know my exhaust sounds smoother once it warms up. I'm running a 2 1/4 in double wall dual tip. I'm about to swap it for a single wall dual turn-up tip. We'll see how that may change things.
