No, an OBDII reader won't display those codes.
Your description of the problem seems to be leaving out some critical pieces of information.
Did you check the fuses? If not, check them all.

YOU'RE THE MAN!!

I checked the fuses earlier this morning.. It was fuse 8 (IGNITION) that was fried. I had no idea that this fuse was hooked up to so many circuits.

Yesterday, I found a wire under the hood that had melted against a hot metal tube on the D/S of the engine (something to do with exhaust?). I fixed the insulation and secured it to the side of the battery box. That must have been the cause of this headache.

Same exact problem

Went to start car for work this morning and the exact same problem occured...battery is good..alt is good...starter is new and checked all connections before posting here...when key is turned to start..only constant chime...no dash lights..no radio..nothing except for dome..door locks and trunk...when brake is depressed and key to on...shifter is still locked out...no power there either...key works fine with no hangups...any ideas anyone?

i have the same problem with my 2006.but when i turn the key to the on position everything goes dead except for the passenger air bag lite,the antitheft lite,and the check oil lite all start blinking real fast and i can hear clicking coming from the engine compartment.and the radio comes on even when the key is off.i can change or stop the noise and blinking lites when i press the hazards button.please help!!!anyone?thanks

You should start your own threads. While you may be experiencing similar problems, you have different cars and different circumstances.

You'll get better troubleshooting.
