did you get the key off ebay? if so make sure that the guy gave you the new transponder chip as mine was originally shipped with the old one.

to program it, get both of your keys that came with your car. and your new flip key.

drive the car home from work one day with all the keys. whn you get home turn the car off. without opening the door, start the process that is in the instructions. turn the first OEM key to run wait for the lights to go off, and then turn it off. insert the second OEM key do the same step, turn it off and insert the new flipkey and wait for the light to turn off and then turn it off and pull the key out.

you have to do this all pretty fast, you can't have more than a 5 second delay.

after you pull the flip key out, put it back in and attempt to start the engine.

this is the exact process that i did and it worked. i think the secret was you have to have the car running first before starting and don't open the door.

I got it to work after driving around for a couple minutes. Love this new key. How much does your key wiggle when extended?

It wiggles enough. Not the best build quality. But its not like i think it will snap apart.

OK, I may be victim number two!
I ordered the key, and hopefully it comes in quick.
I know a locksmith, that said he has the machine, but not sure if he has the correct cutter or something like that. If this works out, I will be ordering a second spare (Fourth Key) for a backup.

Thank you for posting the directions on how easy it is.

I was at the Ford dealer that I bought the car from, to pick up the second key, (They lost one key while the car was on their lot) and I was told it would take at least an hour to program!

There is also a $62.20 OEM key available on Ebay that I may try next.

I Emailed the OEM key seller I quoted above, and he sent me the instructions for their key in less than five minutes. Same directions as OP posted.
Just thought I would share it in case anyone wanted them.

You Must have Two Working Keys (keys that start your car) to perform this procedure. If you only have one working key or none at all it must be programmed by a dealer or locksmith! Your New third (unprogrammed) key must also be cut prior to performing this procedure.

1. Insert an existing (working) key into the ignition cylinder.

2. Turn the ignition cylinder ON (just shy of starting the car Without cranking the engine) and back to OFF. Ignition should stay in ON position for at least one second.

3. Remove the existing key and WITHIN TEN SECONDS, insert a second working key and turn to ON and then back to OFF. Ignition must be on for at least one second but no more than ten seconds. Remove key.

4. Insert the New (unprogrammed) key before twenty seconds have elapsed and turn to ON. Leave it in the ON position for at least one second and turn back to OFF.

5. The security light will light up for THREE seconds to indicate the new key has been successfully programmed.

Myself and another person had to have the car running for a minute or two before this process worked

So the directions should be after car is running, then proceed with those instructions
