CV Axles snap in right?

my father and i are trying to put my cv axles back in and for whatever god forsaken reason we cant. the axles wont go in no matter what. ramming, hammer, twisting ect. did i miss something?

Which axle?

The right side (passenger) doesn't "clip" in. It is held in by the bearing, so it doesn't have a retaining clip. The driver's side does have a retaining clip. Sometimes it's hard to get it to click in place.

If you've hammered on the shaft, you've probably damaged the axle. You might want to return it. If the driver's side doesn't have a C-clip installed in the slot- that's another good reason to return it.

it has a clip and i tried getting it from the hub assembly area... both sides have shiny showing. im about to just towit to a mechanic
