Interesting. I wonder if it is on my 2012...

Thanks! - my first Ford and first car! Handed down from mom, who bought it new in '79...she traded her Mustang for it.

Anyhow, it seems like it might be a '12 to '13 model difference. Seems like you could order it from Ford. According to my very quick research, it is part #045G34B? It shows a pic if you enlarge the diagram on this link: FORD

Thx for the info.

I have a soft spot for Pintos. And that one has the Starsky and Hutch thing going on.

One neat trick I've discovered lately is that when I open the hatch via keyless entry first, then I can't open the drivers door via keyless entry. The car honks at me like a dog guarding it's food dish and I have to unlock it manually with the keyfob.

Pretty cool eh?

I'll bring this up next time I visit the dealer. Hopefully it won't involve reflashing MFT or the TCM [sarcasm].

As much as I love technology, having so much of it in my car is actually kind of scary/worrisome/expensive.

In high school I worked @ the Ford St. Thomas plant for a few weeks one summer. They built Pintos and Mavericks there. That year they launched the youth option package with flat black stripes and, wait for it, an AM/FM cassette player...oooohhhh. I saw them bring a full basket of the players to the line shortly before shift change. It was empty when the line stopped, and they hadn't built that many cars yet!

Part of my job was to match manuals/invoices and keys with VINs. Seems something got screwed up and they built a bunch without the matching paperwork. Was walking the lot with bundles of document packages matching car vins with package vins. Took a break, leaned on a Pinto fender, and it oil canned on me! Thought I'd broken the thing, but it poped back out. Intersting summer job for a kid.

I didn't realize I could pause/rewind satellite radio for a long time... granted, I never really used it anyway.

Try grabbing the rear passenger handle on the way to the drivers door. I find it works better.

That's interesting, I find the exact same thing. When I get to my car I usually have a bag and so I put it in the back seat because that door opens better than the drivers door and then I can actually get in the car instead of looking silly pulling on the drivers door!
