Interesting, so it's not just me. After reading the page a little more closely maybe what I was reading on pg. 71 just refers to the key fob... There is another section that specifically mentions the outside buttons and it doesn't say anything about pressing it twice. I also looked in the '12 owners manual on owner.ford.com and it says exactly the same thing about the outside buttons which is odd.

So I found this thread explaining that an update removed the beep when touching the outside button twice: http://www.focusfanatics.com/forum/s...=298933&page=2

Oh yeah - I forgot about that ol' thread. I tried, but never got that BCM update. As a result - I occasionally stand outside my car like an idiot trying to unlock it with nothing happening because my dealership "couldn't replicate the issue."

Maybe it's better this way; I do enjoy the honking.

That's a pain. I'm surprised that they wouldn't give you the update even though they "couldn't replicate the issue." If it makes you feel any better I also sometimes have to try the drivers door multiple times to get it to open. Maybe it would be possible for me to roll back to the previous update? I sent a message to FordCustomerService as they had posted on that thread to see if they could do anything to help me.

I'll probably have to hassle the dealer about it and see if they can work out what the problem is. If you guys have any ideas on how to fix it let me know
Let us know how your visit to the dealership goes, XlarXlar. If you need any assistance, I'm always just a PM away!

Is there a way to make the key FOB open all doors with one push?
I did it on my MKII Focus.

Hold the lock and unlock buttons until the lights flash on your car. Then try.

Does the trunk actually open for anyone when you hit the trunk button or does it just unlock? Mine doesn't release like a sedan, but then I've never had a hatchback before.

No - the hatch does not open all the way like it does on the sedan.

I just bought a 2013 SE hatch.

My favorite "discovery" was that the plastic tray sitting in the glove box was actually molded to fit in the center console as a 2nd level of storage. AWESOME!

Yeah, I wish the 2012 had the two-tiered storage in the console. That's one of the few "improvements" I like from 12-13.
