All that means is that you have an SE that costs more than a base Titanium or near enough to make no difference, lol. The standard SE for 2013 gained alloy wheels, cruise control, and sync with myford, but lost the fog lamps, and the only way to get rear disk brakes on a 2013 SE sedan is either the SFE auto, or the SE 201A 5MT/DCT, but the hatch has to have the 201A package now, which included leather. Basically they took the options matrix from 2012 and ruined it. Its sort of an all or nothing thing now.

The base SEL in 2012 was better equipped yet less expensive than the SE 203A Sport DCT, but a loaded SEL was more expensive than a base Titanium, now the SE is more expensive than the base Titanium or ST when fully loaded.

Personally I'd rather have the rear disk brakes and fog lamps along with cloth interior rather than an interior trunk release and black leather seats.

I half regret not getting the 302A (SEL premium package) only for the lovely and from when I sat in them and felt the leather it was nice, Medium Light Stone leather seats, but I didn't really want the 17" polished aluminum wheels, I do however prefer them in the 2013's gunmetal finish, and I really didn't need the rear parking sensors.

I have to disagree here. My SEAP black pack is optioned just how I want it, I couldn't get what I wanted in 2012, and the cheapest titanium was $2,000 more. While the SE sport was a good value, you couldn't get leather. For most of 2012, you couldn't get a manual with leather (until they made it a no-cost--or no-discount--option on the titanium late in the model year). And with the titanium, I believe you are forced to have MFT. I have a manual, leather, four discs, sync without MFT (with the added bonus of the up level console and, apparently, a trunk release button along with my fog light switch).

I have a 2012 303a SEL and it didn't have polished aluminum wheels, I think those are optional like the silver/black wheels. The premium comes with the nice BMW-esque 17"s (same spoke design without the big fat lip) whereas the base SEL came with the alloy 16"s.

Yes, that was correct, but I guess to say I also didn't really want the 302/303A's 17" wheels as I liked them less than the polished aluminum ones personally, but the gun metal version of the polished aluminum ones looks nice, much better than the black painted version in my opinion.

I half wanted to get the premium package but in the end I did not really need the automatic wipers or the reversing sensors, although the auto dimming rear view mirror, leather seats with a power driver seat, and the 17" wheels might have been nice to have.

Except the rain sensing wipers like to sense rain sometimes but not all the time, lol. That was a big selling point for me and it's been a huge disappointment. Hopefully I'll be able to bring it in this week and have that looked at. I'll probably get the usual "they're working as designed" runaround we get for every issue.

A "neat" trick surrounding the rain sensing automatic wipers is that if you disconnect the sensor they will revert to being standard intermittent wipers, but yeah its unfortunate the number of complaints surrounding these as well as the droopy auto dimming mirrors.

My car's SEL stone cloth pattern was only fitted to approximately 1% of all the 2012 Focus models built and sold at least in the state of Michigan, where as the stone leather was only 2% at the time I ordered the car, per the report I was shown by the dealer.

Yeah it sucks that their only answer generally seems to be that its normal, or that we are imagining flaws with the car.

E.X. dealer and FCSD claiming the car was crashed into with no such evidence for the tail lamp rubbing and the head lamp gouging the paint on the hood. Or the heated seats that do not meet the specified temperature set point and generally feel a lot colder than they should.

You have a 2013 Focus SE 201A sedan with what looks to be the standard flat black SE grille and the 17" wheels from the black package that were also a stand alone option in 2012 or 2013 it seems, since the black pack was only available on the 201A hatch afaik, and you don't have black mirror caps or the 3D carbon spoiler with a 5 speed manual gearbox.

This car would cost as much if not more than the old SEL 302A with the optional polished or painted wheels and might have cost as much as a 2012 Focus Titanium with the 5mt and 400a packages. What was your vin? Run it through www.etis.ford.com and tell us what you find.

Compare these two order guides:
2012 Focus Order guide (this is an old one, the final one was similar minus the addition of being able to order a manual Titanium)

Not necessarily a neat trick but I noticed the dryers at the car wash flip open the fuel door on my hatch. LOL
