Long story short, I can confirm that a locked car with a key inside will stay locked until another key is within proximity outside the car. Just last Saturday my brother wanted to see the "grab the handle to unlock" trick and I had to be standing next to him in order for it to work.
If I ever lose my key, the first thing I'm gonna do is try and start it to see if they key is in the car.

Yup, noticed this as well. Very neat functionality.

The should rename the Focus. It should be called "The Smart Car"

I wanted to lock the keys in the car while it was running by hitting the lock button on the dash. It would lock then unlock before I could close the door.
Had to use the second key in the door to lock it.
Smart car indeed.

When I put my the SMARTKEY fob on the passenger seat with driver's side door open, lock the doors with dashboard lock button then exit the vehicle and close the driver's door...after a few seconds the door's will automatically unlock. I cannot lock the keys in...same as the trunk.

mine stayed locked(on the drivers seat), had to go in the house for the other key fob. I'll try the passenger seat/glove box later out of curiosity.

Found out it is a great idea to give your GPS locations a voice tag. I have my systam set up for minimal talk on the part of MFT. SO all I do is hit the paddle ... I hear two beeps ... and then say "Destination Work" or "Destination School". There is no need for back and fourth talk with MFT. She just plugs it right into the system. No more "say a command"

With the car off, keys in hand, doors opened, I hit the radio button and it turned on stating it was in a "1 hour mode".

Aha! But after ~20 or 30 minutes, it'll go back off says "Low battery"!
