Turn off traction control
Brake ON
Floor the gas in drive (revs will limit)
Release brake
Giggle wildly
Then take your Focus into the dealer to fix the inevitable chatter in your DCT

No need to turn off traction control. Works the same with or without it.

The electric tape (or static cling black vinyl) over the sensor is a great idea, that will achieve the goal. However it should be an option for those of us who prefer this setting!
For the electrical tape trick it works, but for the people that are putting their hands or articles of clothing over the sensor it makes much more sense to just hit the "On" switch.

Then again, I'd rather use the switch every single time than apply electrical tape to the interior of my car.

I'd rather that Ford had considered this as an option to be set on the control dial!

1) Added a small piece of window tint (the kind you cut out and put on your windows). This makes it come on sooner.
2) When driving in and out of shade on a highway thru the woods, the lights are constantly going on and off. So I toss my had or a small towel over the sensor and the lights stay on.
Another option is to reconnect your fog lamps to an ignition on wire so that they come on when you start the car and remain on until you shut her down. That way you have, driving lights, fog lights, and DRLs and you don't have to worry about minor inconveniences like thoughtfulness.

My version...
Shift into sport mode manual first gear
brake stand
floor gas
release brake
giggle wildly
at the next stop light repeat from step 1.

love the DCT, no problems here.

I noticed yesterday, that while checking my Ecomode score, I had 5 leaves in both categories, but didn't get a "trophy" i did get a message saying that I do 55% of my trips on a cold engine.

I got a trophy today! it has to be sustained 5 leaf period.

Today I realized that if I hit the blinker once it flashes 3 times. Did it always do that? its a great lane changing feature.

yep, always has done it. it's awesome for exactly that purpose. if you hit it and change your mind before the 3 are up, hit the other direction and it cancels it.

Tap-blink is the best. I use it constantly. Now I can't imagine owning a car without it!
