I ordered a fully loaded Titanium (5 year loan as well) so I'm definitely looking into this. I'm curious how much the price goes up as you approach the the 3/36,000 limit? Or does it remain the same (other than general inflation)? If that's the case, I'm not sure why one would buy it right away for this car. The 2012 focus already come with roadside assistance, etc., so I'm not sure what the advantage would be in getting it when you purchase the vehicle?
Alot, on the website posted above I input 45,000 miles with a 5 year protection plan. The highest which was 60,000 miles was $1800. Compare that to within the first year of purchase, you can get 100,000 mile warranty for $960

I replaced a problematic, 13 month old Kia Forte when I bought my Focus last October. I lucked out with the used market, getting back all by $1,700 of what I spent on my Forte, but to keep payments down on the Focus I decided to get a 6 year loan on it figuring I'd probably end up paying it off early anyway. I found out at the time of signing, of course, that apparently a 6 year loan requires a 6 year warranty, so for an extra grand I have a 6/72 bumper to bumper on my car. It's been excellent so far, so the thought of having to use it hasn't even crossed my mind, but it's good to know it's there if I need it. ;)

That's not the warranty, that's the maintenance plan.

I don't think so. Sounds like the dealer tricked you into buying the warranty.

And, based on my research of the maintenance plan, it is a great value for the dealer and not so great for the customer.

The loan term-matching warranty was actually a requirement of the credit union, who are the ones that told me about it. Thanks, though! :)

My credit union had a great deal on an extended warranty. Problem is it didn't cover the radio and other electronics. That defeats its purpose as far as I am concerned. I am still on the fence over the ESP.
