You can buy from Ziegler anytime up to 12 months from the date of purchase, and it will still be considered a new vehicle. I just bought 7 year 100K $200 deductible coverage for $690. The local dealership was going to sell me a 7/60k/$100 plan for $1,295 - and that was about a grand less than the "full retail" quote sheet showed. Well worth going on line for it. Again, the address is, www.zeiglerfordesp.com.

I got the Premium 4 yr/120K, paid $1400. ($500 off). Wish I would have seen this first, I would have gotten it online. Having said that, my Titanium is fully loaded and I drive about 40K KM/yr.
Laptops and cars are the only things I get ESP on as well. To me, well worth it. I've pd $3400 for trans, $900 for A/C repair and so on. And this plan covers almost everything. Seeing some of the issues here, I'm happy I have it, because I don't want to have to come up with $3400 for a trans again. : )

I finally bought my ESP tonight. I got 5 yr/60K, $0 deductible, first day rental (normal, not premium) for $595. Whether or not I ever use it, I thought the $595 was worth it. I got it online at Anderson & Koch Ford.

With just over 4000 miles I did already need one repair - of course didn't have to pay for it. But I did pay attention to the paperwork to see how much it would have cost if I did have to pay. It was close to $300. So after seeing that, I decided this small investment to extend my warranty by 2 years (net effect) was worth it to me. Not to mention I know for sure I will always get the rental car (even though I don't expect that would have ever been an issue at my dealer).

Having said all that - heres to NEVER having to use it!

So here is my deal....Brand new 2012 Hatchback SE 203A pkg w/ sport crap. The dealer provides their own Lifetime Powertrain warranty, as long as all service is done there. Even so, I am more concerned about the electronics. I am leaning toward the ESP of 7/125 from Zeigler. I plan on paying the car off in 3 years or less and keeping it for 7+ years.
Any input?
BTW-I REALLY like this car!

I have the Ziegler 7/100 Premium care + first day rental.

My car has been in the shop 7 times now, sometimes for a week at a time, for a rattle that has been fixed as of yesterday (or at least it hasn't appeared again) and the first day rental has really saved my butt! I drop it off on the way to work, grab a rental, and don't have to worry about it.

So YES- go with Ziegler and make sure you get the first day rental option!

The regular 3/36 warranty that comes with the car does not include first day rental.

I typically wait for 10 - 11 months before I commit to an extended warranty. My rational is that if after one year of ownership you like the car then fine get the extended warranty.
If you decide the car is a turd and you don't plan on keeping it beyond 3 years, you saved yourself a lot of money.
I call my salesman a day prior to bringing the car in for service. He has a loaner waiting for me when I drop the car off.

If you have a dealership that gives loaners, then of course my comment doesn't apply.

I'm wondering if this is a regional thing? I couldn't find any dealerships around here (VW or Ford) that give free loaners, so I always got warranties that paid for them. Or is it because you've bought a few cars there and it's a relationship benefit?

Your comments are spot on. I just happened to luck out.
The current dealership lost out on the sale when I bought my GT. I told them I would give them another chance when I bought the Focus. They got it right the second time and the salesman is doing a great job of keeping me as a customer.
