My father was in charge of a fleet of trucks that covered the east coast. they were all fords and were taken to ford dealers for service and what not. He was having a disagreement with one of the dealers in the D.C. area and threatened to take his business elsewhere. The dealer said "I don't care this area is highly transient and if you take your business to someone else there will be two people to take your place" Dad promptly went to his office, typed up a memo stating that the entire fleet would no longer be taken to any ford dealer for any service.
that experience aside I have found that attitude less pervasive in Texas. When I first got to Austin I took my car to one dealer and they were total jerks and I have not been in that dealership since 1998. I did find a dealership that treats their customers 100% better in a thousad different ways and will be taking my car to them. altho I will be buying my extended warranty from Zeigler. you being in dallas, you should not have a hard time finding a dealer that will treat you right.

>>>I had to replace the transmission on a 2003 Honda Accord last year with 90,000 miles on it. No warrenty so I had to shell out 3400.00. The fact that it almost never happens to Honda's diden't help me.
I feel for you. I just paid $3,422 for a transmission in an F-150 with 84,000 miles and Ford acted like "yeah, at 80,000 those things happen". First car I'd ever kept past the factory warranty and the last.

Today is my 1 week of ownership. I have 996 miles on it already. I got the 5yr/100,000 premium. Piece of mind :)
for some, it does not make sense. For others it does. |

QUESTION: Does the PREMIUM Extended Care warranty ADD ANYTHING that is not already in my new car warranty?
Or . . . does i simply extend the length of the warranty?

and as you said the premium will not add anything, but plans less than the premium will not cover as much as the factory warranty does. be sure to read all the documentation when you purchase a ESP to know what is and isn't covered. |

I did get the extended warranty PremiumCARE (unable to vote). I think this is something I will always get when I purchase a new car. I had bought the extended warranty on my last purchase and it paid itself many times. I was very happy to have bought it. I like the peace of mind that the little extra cost is giving me.

Some things are worth what they cost for peace of mind alone. PremiumCare being one of them for me as well. I have LOJACK on both my mustangs and will likely get it on my Focus as well. It is also a peace of mind kind of thing. I have an accquantance that has had his mustang stolen twice. LOJACK found it both times.

Having had a few repairs which paid for the warranty on my last car, i bought the Premium warranty, 7 years, 35,000mi (as i do not drive much at all (retired))
And I absolutely hate paying for repairs. The last few years of owning my SVT i really just let anything go i could. The car is nnearly worthless due to so many small issues. It runs fine, just looks like a junkheap. After beating it for 12 years.. |

miles on the car to wear something out? And if you hate paying for repairs, didn't you already pay for them in advance with the warranty?
