WV Mountain get together / cruise.

So i was up visiting my dad in WV this weekend and I realized the enjoyment of some of the roads up there. There is a road that connects Strasburg VA right of interstate 81 to Hardy County WV (Moorefield) where Chick and my Dad and family are from. The road is called Old Rt 55, and is probably the best road I've driven on. I was thinking about putting together a little cruise across the mountain and go somewhere idk yet. There are a ton of sweet roads up there that are perfect for flying or just cruising. Dangerous as hell in some places, and also Old rt 55 was replaced with a corridor that goes across the mtn, a dual lane highway speed limit 65, but i love the old road. With the help of Chick I would like to put together a little get together and cruise and eat or whatever over the mountain. what do you guys think?

I am from that area and agree that Old 55 is a great road to drive, plenty of turns and low traffic.

Oh yeah, that road is hella better now that there is no traffic, at least until you get across the Virginia border-and make sure the cinders have washed off the road from the winter LOL.

Have you ever drive the road on both sides of Mt. Storm? And we use to have Twisty days but it was further south on Route 250. If I knew exactly when we would be coming back in June, I'd be totally up for a twisty day wherever! (And I'm sure some others would too!)

I have been on both sides of Mt. Storm, since they have opened the new part of the Corridor, you exit right at the foot of Mt. Storm.. only problem is, is that they are doing road construction on the road there and there are a lot of big trucks and debris in the road. 250 is also a good twisty road. 33 isn't too bad as well, but the only real twisty section is going up and down the mountain, the rest is a nice ride but not real exciting.

I was also thinking some of the roads in Shenandoah, and particularly the mountain's around Luray. Idk but we def need to get a nice mountain run in this spring/summer. We just need Ashley to come back and more people to join.
