So this is what I am thinking. Since I am shooting for 11.5 compression, and would like to avoid buying pistons. I may take my stock pistons and put them on the SVT rods. But I am not sure if I will gain anything after installing a cosmetic head gasket to clear piston/head contact.

If I end up getting pistons, then I am going to bore it over to a 2.3. What would that be an 88mm piston?

I thought the pin diameter was unique on the svt pistons/rods. I don't think you can mate zetec pistons to svt rods without custom machine work.

also, getting the zetec to a 2.3 is a stroker setup, a 15% volume increase is a lot to ask for from just a bore.

I wouldn't go to the max bore available. The power difference isn't that astonishing.

Yeah I forgot Tom's stroker kit had the crank and rods.

I really don't want to mess with any of that. I want to throw the rods/pistons in while the block is still in the car, and swap the head. Would love to keep the down time between 1-2 weeks.

I think you'd have to make custom pistons. i don't think they have them that wide. (if ur math is correct, didn't check) i don't think there is enough material to SAFELY bore out the block.
