The good news I finally got my car back after a month and 10 days

the bad news is, about 5 miles from my house the "transmission malfunction service now error" happened again and my transmission wouldn't allow me to accelerate... very dangerous.

Unreal it's safe to say this car is a lemon folks. They've done it all, TSBs, updates, brand new 2013 spec clutch assembly etc etc....

and I really wish I was joking, but I'm not lol you cannot make this stuff up.

Must be really frustrating. I'm guessing maybe your transmission really is to blame and not your clutch?

who knows, but you would think after a month they'd at least be able to pinpoint the problem no? lol I was all happy to finally get my car back and when it happened in the back of my mind I was like, I knew it was going to.

Dealer told me to bring back tomorrow but the dealer is about 20 miles out, + tolls I'm in no mood to go back down again.

Ouch, that sucks. I know it isn't the same issue you are facing, but mine was in the shop for three weeks and one day. After the third day, my dealer was telling me since they couldn't get it to do it for them, ford was telling them to give it back to me until it happened again. Seeing how when it happened, the car lost all power and steering, he refused, and kept it and started driving it himself. Two more weeks, and it still hadn't done it again. Finally, someone, somewhere who was dealing with the same issue found a chafed wire under the passenger seat. It wasn't happening for him because there was never anyone in the passenger seat! Inspected my harness, found the same issue. repaired/replaced/rerouted the wires and got it back to us the next day. Been a week, and knock on wood, it hasn't happened again. I hope that's the last of my issues. Happy with my local shop, disappointed in ford in general just from my discussions with my dealer. They pretty much left him on his own to figure it out.

Hi cappa,

I wanted to reach out and see if you had any additional updates about your Focus. I know your CSM is working hard on this and has been in contact with you; if you need any further assistance, just let me know.

Crystal

I unfortunately have not heard anything from my CSM or the dealer for the past two weeks in regards to the latest issue.

The car was towed back to the dealership last Wednesday April 24th, I will reach out to the dealership tomorrow as the lead service rep for my car does not come in until then.

Hi cappa,

I looked at your case notes and see that your CSM has been in regular contact with your dealership. I left a note requesting that your CSM follow up with you to update you on your case.

so, this time they replaced my transmission entirely crossing fingers this issue is "finally resolved."

Only time will tell until I break in the new transmission.
