My main point is how you drive. I usually don't accelerate to lights or stop signs,coast whenever possible. I also usually pump up the air in my tires to 5psi below max.

My father in law has a 5 speed kia rio & gets 37mpg city with that thing. He doesn't drive it on the highway as it' s not very comfortable.

From the other thread lol, but just wondering do you think its more efficient to accelerate higher rpms in a lower gear and jump to a higher gear once you're at the desired speed? Or is it more efficient to just hit every gear on the way up to speed and just try not to mash down on the gas peddle to hard? Ive tried both ways and haven't really noticed a difference

i mean if you're in 2nd gear at 35 & the speed limit is 35, i shift into 5th. Don't know if 6th in your svt is happy down that low or not. going 25 or under i was usually in 4th. Just depends on gearing and rpm's mainly. Biggest factor was the right foot. The 7 weighs damn near 5,000lbs & i managed to 25mpg.

Just watch how you accelerate, time the lights, plan ahead for passes, etc... I kinda make it a game as it is really boring at times, but it keeps me occupied. I also drafted a semi for part of my trip to Chicago in the 'rolla when i got 40mpg. My mother-in-laws 2009 CX9 AWD GT got 47mpg drafting a semi from xenia, oh to just north of columbus last year. The semi was doin 73-75mph, so why not? She usually averages about 18mpg city and 24mpg hwy.

Ive driven mine like i stole it and ive also driven like a grandma or grandpa and it makes no diff in my car. Always between 16-18 mpg. Grandparent drive is 18 and stole it is 16 normal 17. So to me makes no diff

^^ I can relate, but one time I tried coasting everywhere and I only gained like 1 mpg. Lee, orangsvtguy was saying he was in the low to mid 20's range if I remember correctly
