Talking Paint Protection Plus, LLC Clear Bra

Hey guys, just wanted to take a minute to tell everyone about this place I went to in Plymouth, MI. Before I go on, let me clarify that they do not know that I'm doing this, and I am not being paid to talk about it. That being said, I went to this place called Paint Protection Plus, LLC, which is currently operated out of the owner's home in a special garage. The owner, Larry, and his friend put on clear protective films (bras) on cars. They've applied these clear bras on cars like Lamborghini, Porsche, Ferrari -- you name it. One of my co-workers had it done to his Corvette and had only good things to say, so I looked into it and decided to have it done as well. Larry covered my front bumper, part of my hood and front fenders, the side mirrors, and part of my rear bumper for cargo protection. I'll post some pictures of the results. Sorry my car is dirty in the photos; can't wash the car for 48 hours after application. I had to cut out parts of the photos to give the highest resolution.

They apply either 3M or Xpel (your choice, same price). 3M comes with a 5 year warranty, and Xpel comes with a 10 year warranty. Larry told me that his higher end clients ask for the Xpel protection, and he personally recommended it, so that's what I went with. Let me tell you, it looks fantastic. You really have to be looking for the lines to find them (visible in the 4th photo), and now I can breathe easier about my paint. The line in the first photo is the reflection of the power cable going to my house.

Sounds like it'd be much cheaper to just fix the rock chips than what you paid to do that.

To each their own; just wanted to let people in the metro Detroit area know that this is available.

Holy crap. Yeah, it's cheaper to repaint a hood and bumper than that when they get bad enough. If it was a couple hundred I would be down.

The up side is they'll never get chipped unless you get a really big rock. Unfortunately I already have a chip in my hood that's farther back than your clear bra goes. So you'll still eventually get some chips in the hood.
