Whoa, ash... If i lived around you, i'd be doing 100mph in my focus on that road. The really sharp corner on your map is similar to the hairpin on Lake Surprise in my reply. IMO, the roads down south and in the midwest are sometimes extremely long straights, perfect for reaching your top speeds. But no curves? what gives? One reason why i won't drive on those midwest roads.

I am with Eggyolk on this one. California Highway 1 (especially north of S.F.) is the best for corners, curves, straights and scenery. Don't have much time for the scenery if I am driving, though. There are some places that, if you screw up, you are in the Pacific Ocean after a 300 foot drop. No guard rails, either.
Grew up in that area and learned to drive on that stretch of Hwy 1, so it has a special place in my heart.

I don't know about that 100mph hour thing. It's a little bit worse then what it looks like but it's oh so much fun!

topanga canyon road which starts just outside malibu. this road is worth the trip alone. i last took it in 92 and nothing really handled well then. in the focus i would tear it up. its about 15 mins. of driving at 50+ mph. its just like a roller coaster, only youre in control. runner up..stunt road. also kali. pch (rt. 1) is also nice but there are cops and it can be deadly if your not careful. it would be my choice if im feeling suicidal. lol here in upstate ny i dont really have any great roads, mainly just entrances and exit roads. i will have to check out that Spiers Falls Road the guy talked about.

I have two favorite roads...one is up to a lake...BRAND NEW pavement and lots of curves...little shoulder, no barriers. Got up to 95mph and got some air in my car!!! All I have to say is WOE!!! Also..north from in in Wasilla there a MILES AND MILES of dirt roads....Lots of bank on the turns, can go fast there!

cant be at 160, mine has never cut out before 180. with the digital speedo, mine always cuts out at 180... not that i do this alot
