Haha!

If anyone is interested in this, Steve at TouselyFord sells everything at 10% over cost if you mention their internet site. So I took that pricing and subtracted the 10% to get my guess, lol.

finally got the long stud in, and its on! looks brilliant. There is no reason why all of them didnt come with these factory, imo.

**edit** i have 1 spare long and 1 short 6a957 mounting studs if anyone is waiting for any.. I will ship them anywhere in the US for $5 with shipping. Paypal only of course**

didn't get one, it's not a line item listed in my window sticker, so i'm guessing they'd probably try and charge me for it. personally. i don't care. i rarely am looking at my engine anyway, so no big deal what it looks like. as long as not having one doesn't affect functionality in any way i'm fine with it.

When I first opened the hood on my Titanium in April, I thought, oh wow, a big piece of plastic instead of a cool aluminum valve cover or something. (I go to a lot of classic car shows so newer cars are almost always a disappointment.) But, the service manager told me the cover was primarily for noise suppression. I'm sad to say I don't think this engine is that cool looking with the cover off. And, there IS a functional reason for the cover along with the fact that it looks clean and has an emblem.

Someone did make a good counter-point about heat disputation. So as usual , list points in the pros and cons columns and make your own call.

Did you check your ETIS listing? It was list on mine (it wasn't on my window sticker either but a lot wasn't). I have to go back for the remote starter install anyway so I have until then to decide if I want to make an issue of it or not.

No cover on my TI... Got the sport package and they did not put the door sill plate either. They order my sill plate, still waiting, been a mouth now... I'm not too disappointed about the engine cover since the hood is insulated. Engine cover may help for engine noise... Want to upgrade with cold air intake anyway...

it's really going to muffle that much more noise? i already think the car is might quiet over my 2 trucks. so no complaints there.

heat dissipation was a concern of mine. figured the engine would be cooler if i didn't have the cover.

as for staying clean, the cover is just as likely to get dirty as the rest of the engine. so sooner or later you're cleaning the engine and the cover.

i've got other battles to fight.. not really worried about the cover.

so I signed into the ETIS and found this on the read-out. "Engine Cover - Under Hood" does this mean I am owed this or not? I checked my window sticker and it doesn't mention anything about it though.
