Did you have to replace the entire stud or do the balls thread on to the existing studs or are the studs independent from the vale cover bolts? Was it a DIY project or did you have the dealership install the cover? I'm concerned about even torque on the valve cover bolts if only one or two studs/bolts have to be removed and replaced.

Bravo for all your great detailed videos.
I vote that you should be the offical focusfanatics videographer and that your video site should be a sticky on this forum thread for the new MK3 Focus.

I guess I was looking for additional confirmation. Not that I was doubting what alloy07 posted, but his tag states he drives a Mustang and not a Titanium that was built early enough to have the engine cover. I don't know if he's a Ford mechanic or has a working knowledge of the 2012 Focus. Since the SEL did not have that feature, I just want to make sure it can be installed before I order and learn I have to go through the hassle of returning it. Thanks to all who responded to my questions.

I just ordered an Engine Intake Manifold Cover, 3-Engine Cover Studs, Long and 1-Engine Cover Stud, Short from www.fordparts.com which will be delivered to my dealership. The total with tax was $71.07. I went to the dealership today and spoke with the Parts Department. The engine cover stud threads on to the end of the valve cover screws, then the connection balls (included with the cover) screw on to the studs. You will need to order:
Part# 6A949 1-Engine Intake Manifold Cover
Part# 6A957 2-Engine Cover Stud, Long (2 per pack)
Part# 6A957 1-Engine Cover Stud, Short
I guess that wraps it up for me.

Wait what? The Titanium doesn't include an engine cover anymore? I'm going to be very upset with Ford if that's the case. My sales rep even made note of that little extra for Titanium owners when I opened the hood to have a peak.

They eliminated it starting with June builds I believe.

I just purchased a Titanium hatch that was built on June 28, 2011. It did not have the engine cover installed from the factory.

Besides the Mustang we own a 2012 Focus SE. Wanted a manual. Since taking delivery I have installed the black titanium headlights/fog light bezels and the engine cover.
Bought the cover and 4 mounting studs from my dealer for $ 64. It's a five minute install.
