Mamameah4,

to the forum!

Iím your friendly Ford Customer Service Representative. I want to make sure those withdrawal moments are far and few; so letís have the Customer Service Manager for your area review the concern. Shoot me a PM with your contact information, dealer name/state, approximate mileage, and VIN to begin the escalation process.

Have a GREAT weekend!

Noemi

I have a similar problem, my 2012 focus makes light clanking noise when i go over small bumps in the road, then after about 1000km more when i go over a speed bump it starts letting out a wretched sqeek/squeal fromt he front suspension. I've had the front struts and bearing replaced twice for the same reason so far. Just last week it started clanking again, and im betting in another month it will be sqeeking over speed bumps again... I don't know what to do anymore...

If you follow the other thread a that is about 200 pages or more, you will see that it is pretty likely that the sound comes from the "bump stop"...

Some people have found grease inside the rubber bump stop insulates it enough to stop the sound. Grease did not quite kill my sound, but I seem to have had some luck with using a fabric liner (fuzzy velcro) inside the bump stop.
I actually believe it is the hard plastic ring inside the bump stop hitting the shock absorber shaft. I am going to make a felt washer to insulate it all the way around. My sound was 90% zapped by put a strip of velcro just on one side. All the way around should kill the sound.

I had been working on this for a year off and on. Ford did nothing.

Have them check the motor mounts. That's what was wrong with mine.

Can you tell me more about what this sounded like? I have a creaking issue and wonder if it might be the motor mount.

Hi BigJay,

Since you live up north, I recommend that you get in touch with my colleagues at Ford Canada. They can be reached at 1-800-565-3673 and will be happy to help you out.

It was a clunking sound mostly over rough roads. A detroit service rep located the problem in the right engine mount.

Hmm. Mine is more of a door knock noise, but I'm still certain it's clutch-related.

The way he diagnosed it was while holding the brake he went from reverse to low gear which rocked the engine back & forth. The obvious "clunk" was coming from the motor mount. Replaced it & all is good.

Mine does it when I release the brake or give it gas then let off immediately - but it doesn't do it in neutral.
