So last week I took my vehicle to where I just purchased it and asked them about a brief knock while starting the engine. They checked the motor mounts and said all were ok.
Today I took my vehicle to a Ford dealer to ask about what I'm hearing in the transmission and the brief knock. The service manage drove the car and I rode. He said the brief knock could be the exhaust. He said the transmission sound at low rpm is gear rattle. They took the vehicle into the shop to look further for the knock sound. About 15 minutes later they came and told me I have a bad passenger side motor mount. I asked to see this and the technician showed me a pool of fluid on top of the mount. He then proceeded to take a prybar and jam it into the top of the mount, causing more fluid to come out. When I asked to see the service manager, he told me the cost to replace would be $260.00. When I told him the dealer I purchased the vehicle at inspected the mounts, and they had been fine prior to today, there was no response. He then agreed that the mount replacement would be covered under the powertrain warranty. The part is not on hand and will take about a day to arrive. |

No, what you suggested helps. Once the rumble showed up I started trying to keep the rpms up and really eas into the throttle if they did drop down. That seems to smooth it out most of the time.

I had my motor mount replaced right away too - leaking fluid, typical sign. I've got 80k on my car now -

My friend has an '08 Cobalt XFE. No ABS, cruise, power windows, locks or mirrors. The thing doesn't even have an arm rest/center console. As for my Focus, 1 of 2 manuals at my local Ford dealer. Both identically equipped coupes, one blue (obviously) and one silver.

Been a long time since I've posted on FF, but I when i got my car there were two manual coupes on the lot, a red base model and a silver fully loaded besides ABS\traction control, and a sunroof... needless to say i got the silver SES 5spd, I got 45k miles on it so far and havent even done brakes lol. I got exhaust intake and tune. My friend has a 10 auto coupe and I can easily pull like 3 cars om him or more lol love the manual

I have a manual drove 75 miles to get it. dont have ABS or anything power lol got a baseline s coup. did not want anything else.
