WTB: MTX swap parts

Im looking to do a manual swap soon. Already have a '00-'02.5 5 speed, pas. axle carrier bearing mount, shifter housing, clutch/brake reservoir, and line from reservoir to clutch master cylinder. Just looking for the following in working order and good condition:

- Clutch/brake pedal box assembly (pedals, pedal covers, the whole bracket, sensors with pigtails if possible, etc)
- '00-'02.5 shifter cables (NEED the earlier version)
- Crank position sensor AND mount from MTX zetec car

- Manual starter (lower miliage is preferred)
- Shift boot (SVT preferred but standard can work if price is right)
- Pressure line from clutch master cylinder to slave cylinder

And this stuff would probably be a long shot but I'm also looking for all this in NEW condition:

- Torsen LSD
- Axle bearings
- Axle seals

- All syncro assemblies

Planning on ordering from Steve at Tousley asap if I cant find the 2nd list stuff. Well, if you have any of this stuff then feel free to PM me or post here.

the clutch line can be had for new from ford for $55 or thats what i paid.
axle seals are about $9 each from the dealer.
(thats what i paid at my local dealer)
fluid. get the ford stuff if its not too expensive (local dealer wanted $27 a qrt, so i went with redline mtl for $12.99)

starter i got from a wreckers for $30 w/80k km on it and a 90 day warranty.
most parts i also go at the wreckers. (uncle works at a large one and got me discounts and a warranty on everything.)

i have also compared the two carrier bearing mounts from ATX and MTX (have both) and i can't see a difference. i used the mtx cause i had it, but not sure if its required.

i just finished doing this swap and i will say its a pain to try doing it on your back. i did it with a hoist and on my back with a jack and the hoist was sooo much easier.

the end result is worth it imo i love my car so much more after the swap.

i would also recommend cleaning everything, pull the boots off the axles clean and re-grease (if your low mileage you will be fine but mine had 250k on them so figured it couldn't hurt to throw $20 in grease into them) and an easy way to see the shape of the trans is pull the shift tower and look around with a flashlight so see if there is anything abnormal or really dirty, ect.

clutch switch you will need the two wires that go to the pins, ones grounded the other goes to a relay. the relay ground goes to the switch the 12v to constant power common can go to red/grey and the NO goes to the grey wire.

^^ this isn't in the PDF for re-wiring the ATX harness.

any questions about the swap just pm me ill be happy to help.

Cool man, thanks for that post. Right now I've got a hit on most all the swap parts I need. Finding my pedal box was the biggest thing out of my list. I've got about a $1000 to play with at the moment for this swap so I will probably just make an order for Steve at Tousley to get my Torsen diff, bearings, syncros, seals, and stuff to rebuild the trans. Figured I may as well build it now since I have the time, money, and plans to turbo the car eventually. And that's good to know about the clutch sensors because I wasnt sure what to do when I got to that point. Thanks man

with the clutch switch i never bothered, then tom when tuning the ca mentioned that the will always think its in neutral and i should put one in. so i did and i haven't noticed much of a difference but i haven't been paying attention to rpm hang ect since i have been driving in heavy traffic.

wish i had the funds for an lsd at the time. but if funds let me ill do one over the winter.

have fun and enjoy the car. you will learn alot about the car from doing this. (or i did as it was my first time pulling a trans) i can dissconnect everything, drop the trans and then re-install everything again in about 5-6 hours now. first time it took me ~14-16 hours combined.

oh and don't listen to people that are like "why are you doing this to a focus" my uncle/ his boss said that and i told him because my focus is now faster then my friends 79 Z28 with a 350. they didn't say anything to that, lol.
