^ that video isn't for a 2012 Focus. We don't have a menu option in the computer to do that. If I understand correctly, we can reset it manually using the directions tigertiger posted earlier in this thread.

Directions which you'll find in the Owner's Manual at page 342.

P.S. In my youth I learnt (the hard way) that when you are stuck on a issue, you should look in the manual that comes with the f...g appliance !

Unless Ford is using some new space age gold plated shit,
Roger that! Look at the list of "stuff" you have to do to reset this idiotic feature. I swear the engineers were messing with us. Stand on your head, on Tuesday, while singing God Bless America, while farting for at least 30 seconds. Gimme a break!

Is there a way to disable this nannyistic needless POStuff? aka: TPMS's younger lesser known brother.

I change my oil and filter every 5000 miles.............easy to remember.

I am not sure if it's working or not. I have 9,300 miles on mine and haven't had a warning yet. There are some people that have over the 10,000 recommended maximum change interval that didn't get the message.

Has anyone seen an indication from the oil change monitor system?

It seems to me Ford, because of lack of "buttons" decided to go with the pedals. In my ex-car, the light for "maintenance time" was reset if I pushed two buttons same time. And yes, not many Ford technicians knew about the feature. What a f... ? Doesn't anybody read the f... manual nowadays ? Why ? Because of the "we know it all" syndrome ?

To be right, I don't mind to do a simple operation, 'cause its simple enough. (turn the key on, keep both break and accelerator pedals pressed for 25 seconds, let go, turn the key off). BUT I DO MIND when Ford's technical staff doesn't have a clue about the car they are supposed to do the maintenance on.

GREAT question! I have seen this asked/discussed on the forum several times and have yet to hear ANYONE get the "time to change your oil" message. I wont be waiting for it! I have a hard time NOT changing it once it turns black which over the years (with a blend) is about 5000 miles. I'm going full syn on the next change with the thought of running it for 7,500 - 10K.

1. Turn the ignition key to the on position. Do not start the engine. For vehicles with push-button start, press and hold the START/STOP button for two seconds without pressing the brake pedal. Do not attempt to start the engine.
2. Press both the accelerator and brake pedals at the same time. 3. Keep both pedals fully pressed.
4. After three seconds, the Service: Oil reset in prog. message will be displayed.
5. After 25 seconds, the Service: Oil reset complete message will be displayed.
6. Release both the accelerator and brake pedals.
7. The Service: Oil reset complete message will no longer be displayed.
8. Rotate the key to the off position. For vehicles with push-button start, press the START/STOP button to turn the vehicle off completely.
Thanks for the tips, I was able to change the oil myself for the first time with my 2012 Titanium. However, no matter what I do I cannot get the oil reset to work? I have the push-button start, but when I hold the button for 2 seconds and press both accelerator and brake the car tries to start???

If you go with a blend you should change it every 5-7.5k depending on how/where you drive it.
If you run full synthetic then 10k is fine.

ppl are crazy going over 10k with a blend imo especially when it costs like 25 bucks at the Ford dealer.
